Happy New Year fellow dog lovers,
sure we all had a fulfilled festive season and a wonderful start to the new
2015, hoping our pets were part of the festive grooves.
As the festive season folds up
and welcomes the new year, we welcome the cold season, called harmattan.
In
this part of the world, the cold sometimes becomes unbearable for us especially
the early hours of the day, we should note that just as this season affect we
humans, our dogs are affected more because they do not have clothes or skin to
change to but we as caring dog owners need to follow some steps to keep these
human friends warm and away from cold as too much exposure to the cold may
affect your dog’s health and cause her to be sick which may eventually kill
her.
Below are some tips to keep your
pet warm:
COMFY BEDS: We can achieve this by getting your bed a comfy bed
whereby she can lay at night or anytime she wants to rest because sometimes
lying on bare floor seems not comfortable because the floor itself is cold, we
might therefore need to provide them with a comfy bed so they won’t feel the
coldness on their skin and fur when they lie.

WARM FOODS: Try as much as possible to serve their foods warm, if
you have a pet that eats little by little, it’s advisable you don’t serve her
food all at once so it’ll make it easy for you to warm when next you want to
serve her, when they eat warm food in this weather, it helps rather than eating
cold and tasteless food.
Please take note that it’s not
advisable you bath your pet in this season but if it’s a must for you to bath
her, bath
her during the day when the sun is at its best.
Whatever is not suitable for
humans in this season is definitely not suitable for your pets.
