Sitting with my dogs on a lovely Sunday evening, staring and giggling at them all, they all sat close to me like they knew Monday will soon be here and she'll gone from morning till evening so they had to get enough time needed to cover up..I on my own part was wondering if i could just have a day in the week to spend with them and sometimes wonder if i could see what they do when i'm absent from home but i'm sure they'll understand mummy has to go out so we can all be fine and have what we want, Dogs must have always imagined why we have to go out everyday leaving them to themselves at home, Little wonder they choose to be destructive when the boredom becomes unbearable and do some other unthinkable things that could be frustrating to humans..i used to discipline them at times before i realized it didn't stop them from being destructive but reminded me that i had to know the cause of why they choose to be destructive and of course proffer the solution...dogs tend to be destructive when they are left alone for a long time and have restricted or no toy around them, this post will address how to make your furry friend less destructive and have more fun when she's alone..
First, we should know that dogs might not be comfortable on gravel and sand fillings, besides it could become smelly and messy at some point so it's advisable to provide them with artificial grasses and floors that can be washed off when it becomes too dirty to match and easy to play/run for them.
Secondly, make sure your dog have access to clean water when you are absent from home, it is important they stay hydrated all the time using clean water bowls.
Thirdly, provide your dog with adequate shelter that she could hide in case the sun is too hot or for rainy days, an umbrella and bed in a separate place is not a bad idea too where she can sun bath..[let them feel special too]
Also, provide a very fantastic comfortable bed where they can lie their head after a long run...comfort is KEY!
Lastly, let them have enough toys to play with and don't forget to drop their favorites toys[toys with special effect, light or squeaky toys,bouncing and chew toys] that you think will attract them more than an ordinary toy,Give her a JOB!
Be sure to have obedient furry friends when you apply these theories and making them feel loved and remembered whenever you are absent from home and trust me, i saved myself lots of precious belongings when i did same to them..
