When Breathing Becomes A Heavy Task

This is also known as dyspnea and can manifest as choking, wheezing, weak breathing or respiratory attack, this could be triggered by allergic reaction, throat infection, heart and pulmonary diseases.

REVIEW OF THE MOVIE: SECRET LIFE OF PETS

Image result for picture cover of secret life of pet movieThe movie the secret life of pets is a movie based on the lives of pets in various homes and what they do when their owners leave home for the day's work, My analysis of the movie will be discussed below, and don't forget that some of the previous write ups have focused on some things these pets do when they are home alone, this write up will however state with adequate examples with real life experiences what exactly your dog is up to when you are absent from home,it might be a bit lengthy but trust me, it's worth the read.
First in the movie, we see that the pet dog max was brought home and was pampered by her owner named katie into the city of new york, max was always pampered by katie and understands each other's language but one thing that katie wasn't able to communicate well was her absence away from home which she thought the pet max will understand, max on the other hand always wondered why katie had to leave everyday to only God knows where, this to me shows that our pets actually know and feel the hurt whenever they re left at home alone,

MANGE SKIN DISEASE IN DOGS

Mange is a skin disease caused by mites that affects many animals. In dogs, it is usually caused by one of three microscopic mites: Cheyletiella, Demodex, or Sarcoptes. Each one causes a different type of mange, with each presenting similar yet varying degrees of symptoms. Because mange treatments vary by type and severity, it is essential to take your dog to a veterinarian if you suspect that he has mange. Your veterinarian will perform a physical exam, take samples of the mange, prescribe medications, and administer treatments. Below are what to look out for in your dog if you suspect she has mange:

ITCHING

The itching can even be so severe that it distracts the dog from necessary behaviour like eating, drinking, and resting.
Severe cases of sarcoptic mange that result in secondary infections from bacteria or yeast can cause a white, crusty surface to form on the dog's irritated skin, though this does not occur in all cases. In addition, dogs with severe secondary infections will also often suffer weight loss, run a fever, and/or have enlarged lymph nodes.

CANINE PARVOVIRUS :WHAT EVERY PET OWNER SHOULD KNOW

The first time i heard the word parvovirus,it was a friend's dog that was down with it and i thought it was just a normal dog disease that can be easily treated but no it isn't!it is a deadly virus.
The canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is a highly contagious viral disease that affects dogs. The virus manifests itself in two different forms. The more common form is the intestinal form, which is characterised by vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss, and lack of appetite (anorexia). The less common form is the cardiac form, which attacks the heart muscles of very young puppies, often leading to death. The majority of cases are seen in puppies that are between six weeks and six months old. The incidence of canine parvovirus infections has been reduced radically by early vaccination in young puppies.

Symptoms

The major symptoms associated with the intestinal form of a canine parvovirus infection include severe, bloody diarrhoea, lethargy, fever, vomiting and severe weight loss. The intestinal form of CPV affects the body's ability to absorb nutrients, and an affected animal will quickly become dehydrated and weak from lack of protein and fluid absorption. The wet tissue of the mouth and eyes may become noticeably red and the heart may beat too rapidly. When your veterinarian palpates (examine by touch) your dog’s abdominal area, your dog may respond with pain or discomfort. Dogs that have contracted CPV may also have a low body temperature rather than a fever.
